Frequently asked questions about this model
What raw materials are used to make concrete blocks?
Sand, gravel (aggregates), water and cement, with common gradings of 0-2 mm, 2-4 mm and 6-8 mm (maximum size around 8 mm) to achieve a balanced mix. Washed sand 0-3 mm, sand with fines 0-3 mm and fine gravel 3-8 mm can also be combined depending on the application. Correct dosing is key to the strength, durability and final finish of the piece.
How does a Rometa block plant work from start to finish?
Aggregates and cement are stored and mixed in set quantities (three aggregate gradings, cement and water) until a homogeneous mix is obtained, which the vibro-compactor doses into the mould on a wooden pallet. The machine vibrates the mould during filling and applies stronger vibration during compression to remove air from the mix. The pallet with the wet piece then goes to natural drying (24-48 hours, avoiding sun and wind) and, once dry, the piece is palletised onto a pallet while the wooden pallet is cleaned, turned and greased to go back to the machine.
How much production capacity does the Rometa 1010 have?
Up to 600 units/hour, with 60 kW of installed power. It's the entry-level plant in the Rometa range, designed for producing blocks, hollow-core blocks and pavers with simple assembly and fully automatic operation.
